Gettin’ Hitched!

OK, Y’ALL! Our two September brides are THE COOLEST chicas ever! Lindsay gets married next weekend, on the 22nd, and Tiffany get married the following weekend, on the 29th. Their grooms are pretty rockin’, too, so this is going to be a seriously FABULOUS MONTH of wedding photography. Yay!

I posted Lindsay and Cale’s engagement session earlier this summer and now it’s time for Tiffany and Bradley!

It’s no secret that I’m dyingggg to be southern or at the very minimum, move there, live there forever and acquire an accent. Southerners make me happy, so when this adorable Southern Belle and her fiancĂ© booked us for their wedding, MY LIFE IMPROVED like 100%!

When we were first emailing about her big day, she said she loves antiques and vintage stuff, that her wedding as going to be all ‘period’ items and very detail intensive and that (OMG) her invites were actually Hatch Show Prints. I was like, “Wait. WHAT!?!? Nooooo wayyyy!!!” (Hatch is in Nashville). After hearing even more details such as the bouquets and boutonnieres (I will keep those details a secret for now), programs and menus, I immediately decided this was my perfect wedding and I really wish she had planned our entire wedding for us. HA!!

Needless to say, I am THRILLED for her, for him and for us to be part of their big day! Being from Bowling Green, she promises her family will be saying things like, “y’all and Yankees.” I am hoping they will adopt me and my new residence will soon be in Kentucky :) :)

Their wedding is in about 12 days :). I was going out of town when I finished editing their engagement session, so I decided to save my FB’ing and blog post until right before the wedding to get everyone pumped about these AMAZING details. She brought some little sneak peeks of their wedding day decor to the session and some adorable signs. LOVE!!! Here are just a few of my favorites from their e-pics:

Celebrating 50 Years <3

When my lovely friend Cindy asked me to photograph her parents’ 50th anniversary pics, I was so thrilled!! They are the sweetest and most ADORABLE couple EVER!!! I have known her parents for a longggg time since Cindy and I played flutes together all through school (again I say, FLUTES ARE AWWWWESOME)! :)

We decided on her parents’ house since they have lived in it their entire marriage. I asked them when exactly they moved in. She said they moved in the fall after they married. He agreed and said, “Remember, it was Thanksgiving weekend?” And.they.laughed and agreed, remembering it!! Ahhh!! LOVE.

I asked if they had a wedding picture, so she brought one down to show me. How beautiful is this…seriously!? They still look the same and I love-love-LOVE it!!!

Their corsage and boutonniere to wear to their anniversary dinner. Cindy and I thought it would be cute to take pics of it like it was prom…and it was ;)

They wanted big family pics with the house:

Then, they had the perfect photography backdrop in their backyard – a cute little shed. Here are a few of the family pics!

LOVE => THESE 50 YEAR ANNIVERSARY PICS:

OK, so we were talking about the ladder leaning on the shed. They all started talking about how the ladder had probably been there almost the entire fifty years, too, AND how they had used it to paint every room in the house. Then, they started looking at the various colors talking about which color was used and where, and how the pink was the pink used in Cindy’s room, etc. In other words, I had to take a pic of the ladder after that conversation, so here it is: ;)

And finally, how adorable are they…

Thank you so, so much for having me! I can only HOPE that Kurt and I are blessed enough to celebrate 50 years! AND I so hope we are as sweet as these two lovebirds are to each other and laugh as much as they do. My heart is happier having photographed this, so thanks to all of the Reinart’s and to Cindy for asking me to be a part of it all.

Happy (Almost) Weekend! You should go give your loved ones some x’s and o’s ;)

Much love to all,
Ann

Some Things I Love…

…[but my friends make fun of me for]:

A: Gas Stations, omg. I really cannot drive without a fountain pop in my car. If the trip is over ten five minutes, I really need to stop and get one. If they have Diet Mt. Dew or Diet Coke on draft, happy birthday to me!! Ghetto fabulous, omg! If the trip is over a couple hours, I will probably need to stop (again) and get one or more of the following:

My girl Tracy periodically drops me a Salted Nut Roll in the mail to be funny. No matter how many times she does it, I am never expecting it. Haha! She says you have to be 90 years old to love nut rolls but I’ve loved these babies for like 25 years. Oh well, fountain pop and salted nut rolls = lovvve.

B: Walgreens! I hate nothing more than grocery stores or Wal-Mart, so I will gladly pay an extra $5.75 for a super-small bottle of laundry detergent if it means not having to walk into Hy-Vee. Walgreens is awesome :) Where else can you get greeting cards, bandaids, highlighters, a Halloween costume, Tide and Advil within like 26 square feet?! Occasionally, my friend Kate will ask if I’m seriously still shopping at Walgreens. Why yes, yes I am. Maybe I’ll stop there tomorrow… Ha!

C: Red Lipstick. They have been trying to cut me off for years. Occasionally, I still break it out :)

Wow, this has nothing to do with photography. :) LOTS and lots of photos to share coming soon! It’s so much easier to blog randomness since I type around 27,000 words per minute.

Mucho love to you all!
Ann :)

It’s that time again.

By “that time,” I mean “Build-A-Bear Time.” Yay…not. You mamas feel my pain.

My credit card has had about a four year reprieve from that joint since Belle a) had too many of those bears to even count, b) never EVER played with them anyway, and c) outgrew asking to go.

BUT, like the crazy people we are, Belle and I let Will talk us into it today. I was happy because he was so excited to “Build a Alvin.” Ha.

He liked it but kept trying to convince the girl to let him get INTO the stuffing machine. Omg. And he’s not really the type to take no for an answer. Yikes. And then he wanted to put two hearts in instead of one, which was just weird.

The good news is that Will built the $15 Alvin and was ready to roll out!?! Belle always roped me out of about $100 in bear clothes. She did try to convince me Alvin needed pajamas, slippers, sunglasses and a giant car but Will wasn’t hearing it so neither was I. She is such a good big sis <3

Here's a pic taken prior to him trying to weasel his way into the machine. My baby <3 <3

OMG!

How sad it is that I have not blogged SINCE APRIL!? For real!? Blogging is my favorite past-time next to shopping, matchmaking (I’m super successful at matchmaking…trust me on this one)…and going to sweet photo retreats.

Hope everyone had a great summer! I am sooo sad it’s over! Having a bambino, I haven’t spent much time on the deck this year of record temps. Suckkkyyy. I am all about the 100 degree days with 100% humidity, however. Hence, the reason I need a pool post-haste.

Let’s kick this baby off with a little throwback to my old blog by sharing some LOVESSSS AND HATTTTESSSS:

LOVVVVES:

#1: Speaking of the pool, I have Kurt whittled down from, “You’re out of your #*&^ing mind if you think I’m buying you a pool…” to an annoyed “Yeah, a pool would be nice but…[insert excuses I’m not trying to hear].” I think this is MUY BUENO progress! Yay for pool parties!

)

#2: Skinny jeans. Horrifyingly, I’m like three years (or four?) behind this trend but I jumped on the bandwagon this spring and became obsessed. I hear boot cut is back in style, which is probably for the best. Holla!

#3: Reba (the show) and also Ebay. OMG, it’s soooo hilarious. I know this sounds insane. Lifetime decided to cancel it in the a.m., so I promptly went on Ebay and ordered all 6 seasons. Now, it’s non-stop Reba whenever you want around here.

HATTTTTESSS:

#1: Fitnessless on the Farm. Hello, with three kids, I don’t even have time to put ice in my Diet Coke. And we all know how much I love the Diet Coke. I’ve been slacking on my gym time for like four months due to these kids asking me for something every .35 seconds. This needs to change because I really miss chatting with my peeps at the gym (amongst other reasons). ha!

#2: WHY is every single road I take under construction? I mean, seriously every.single.one?!?! I am not a great driver anyway so weaving in and out of barricades is not my insurance company’s idea of a good time.

#3: Late summer => Box Elder Bugs! GROSS!!!!! I don’t mind the japanese beetles ladybugs but the box elders need to have a little visit from Babe’s Pest Control. I do feel badly about this but those things creep me out majora!! *shudders*

Much love to you all! xo!
Ann :)
